MARTINEZ DIRECT ROUTE

It´s the most affordable way to climb to the summit of Picu Urriellu

The Martinez Direct route wasn´t the first route opened in the Naranjo de Bulnes ( Picu Urriellu) It is the easiest and one of the most beautiful routes because of his rock quality and particularity. It´s a 5 climbing pitches and 180 meters where the hardest part is in the first 15-20 meters of the first pitch, then the dificulty decreases. As we ascend whe whill find some big cracs with pipes shapes and scars on the rock, caused by the water, that makes the climb easiest and very enjoying, as we can see in the following video:

It´s always recommended to practice climbing before we make the ascent of Picu Urriellu but people with Little climbing experience can climb the Martinez Direct route, of course if they are mountaineers and feel comfortable in  mountain terrain.
